Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information SMC Ledger collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the website and the app.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, provided when you register. If you sign in with Google, your Google profile name may also be shared with us.
- Journal data: the trades, notes, and tags you deliberately enter. This data is only ever linked to your account.
- Subscription data: whether your account has an active Pro subscription and its billing state, so the app can unlock the features you paid for.
- Payment data: handled entirely by Paddle.com, our payment processor. SMC Ledger never sees or stores your card details.
- Technical data: standard device and browser information collected by our hosting platform and analytics tools to keep the service running and understand aggregate usage.
2. How we use your information
- To provide your account and the journaling and analytics features you use.
- To manage your subscription, including activating and revoking Pro access.
- To communicate with you about your account, subscription, and important service changes.
- To maintain, protect, and improve the service in aggregate — never to profile you for trading decisions.
3. Third parties we share data with
- Base44 — the platform that hosts and runs SMC Ledger, including its database and authentication systems.
- Paddle.com — the merchant of record that processes subscription payments, billing, and tax. Paddle receives your email address and payment details in order to process your subscription, under Paddle's own privacy policy.
- We currently run no third-party analytics or advertising on the site — no Google Analytics or ad networks collect data about you here.
- We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies and local storage
SMC Ledger uses a small number of cookies and browser-local values to stay signed in, remember your light/dark theme preference, and remember your progress in the free learning course. You can clear or block these in your browser settings; blocking them may affect sign-in.
5. Data retention
We keep your account and journal data for as long as your account is active, so you always have your full trading record. If you delete your account or ask us to erase your data, we will delete it as described below, except where we are legally required to keep records.
6. Your rights and choices
- Access and export: you can view your journal data in the app at any time, and Pro users can export it as a CSV file.
- Correction: you can edit your journal entries at any time; contact us to correct account details.
- Deletion: you can request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting MoXaujournal@gmail.com.
- Marketing: we do not send marketing emails unless you ask for them.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including access controls on subscription and account records. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
SMC Ledger is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The revised date at the bottom of this page changes when we do, and material changes will be communicated before they take effect.
10. Contact
Privacy questions and data requests can be sent to MoXaujournal@gmail.com.
